The many facets of Mental Telepathy

The term ‘Mental telepathy‘ is misleadingly broad. It essentially means the direct communication of thoughts between people without using the basic five senses. There is a huge difference, however, between having a creepy feeling that someone is watching you and being able to pick the plans for a nuclear reactor out of an unsuspecting scientist’s mind. Mental telepathy covers a huge range of abilities from very basic to fairly complex. This article will attempt to explain the different levels of mental telepathy.

NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION:

Kinesics, or non-verbal communication, occurs whenever two people communicate without speaking, using their eyes, body language, and facial expressions instead. This can range from simple messages like ‘go away’ to entire conversations. Any parent who has tried to communicate something to their spouse that they don’t want their children to hear has experienced this. Non-verbal communication is achieved easiest and most accurately between people who know each other well—siblings, parents and children, husbands and wives, and close friends.

Some can argue (with good reason) that this doesn’t count as mental telepathy, as the two people are using their senses to communicate (just not with sounds). Technically, this is correct. This doesn’t mean, however, that mental telepathy does not play a role. The fact that non-verbal communication occurs most successfully between people who are related (like family), or who have lived together for extended periods of time (like spouses) implies that their minds might be more attuned to each other than to strangers. On the other hand, one could argue that this merely means the two people know each other well enough to understand each others more subtle body language, or have created agreed-upon nonverbal signals to communicate.

EMPATHY:

Through empathy it is possible to directly experience the emotions of others or connect on an emotional level. Putting yourself in another’s shoes’ and understanding how they feel is not something everybody is able to do. Training and practice can increase empathy. Imitating the emotions of others, even to the point of spontaneously laughing or crying is something actors and sociopaths can do everyday.

Sympathetic pain or truly feeling the pain of the other person is often experienced by many. This can be particularly prevalent in mothers who even develop a fever when their children are sick. There are times when close friends or relatives actually feel the pain whether it’s emotional or physical or even mental of the other person. Then there is something known as long distance empathy which all of us have known and experienced at one time or the other. This happens when some one real close to us has problem or gets hurt or even is in danger and is somewhere else and we feel their pain and emotion.

There are some skeptics and psychologists who scoff at these kind of incidents and call them the work of an overactive brain. In certain cases they may have a point because we can see the injury and the hurt. However in cases of long distance empathy where a person doesn’t even know that his loved one is injured or hurt, then they don’t have an explanation about why a person who cannot even see the other person can feel the pain.

CONCRETE CONCEPTS

This is the thought transference of concrete symbols and objects between two minds. Mental telepathy at this level must by necessity move beyond the regular five senses, and often requires a designated sender and receiver, intense concentration, training, and practice.

Here the principle is that simpler concepts are easily communicated. For instance an animal is more difficult to communicate than a shape or color.

Zener cards often used in mental telepathy test are an example of this principle. Simple, concrete black-and-white symbols (a circle, square, star, plus sign, and three wavy lines), gives even a random guess a 20% chance of being right. On the other hand, a shared, known, limited set of concrete symbols may increase the coordination of the thoughts between sender and receiver. A success rate of 50% or higher (which have happened) can not be explained away by simple statistics, but may indicate a level of mental telepathy, instead.

ABSTRACT COMMUNICATION:

Mental telepathy at this level involves abstract concepts like ideas or actions, which are more complex to communicate than colors and shapes. Telepaths rarely achieve this level, and lower success rates are indicated in experiments.

Some animals appear to communicate, and science is not able to explain how. Telepathy shouldn’t be ruled out. At this level, such animals would be using abstract concepts, albeit very basic concepts. Due to the nature of animal brains lacking prefrontal lobes, such ideas would probably not go beyond simplistic impulses like ‘hungry’, ‘thirsty’, ‘horny’, or ‘danger!’

While humans may have once been capable of telepathy, as the species evolved and developed language, it was no longer needed as a form of communication. With the right stimulation humans may be able to call upon this dormant ability that includes abstract communication of ideas. Mental telepathy could be used to communicate, without the need for the use of the five senses.

If enough people can develop these powers, theoretically all humans in the future could use mental telepathy to communicate, according to some scientific beliefs.

Learn Telepathy - The Real Secrets

We human beings can all learn telepathy. Telepathy translates into sensing/transmitting feelings at a distance, and/or doing so without using the five physical senses and without using words. In other words, this is mind-to-mind communication that can often be exchanged instantly even over vast distances.

If you believe that you cannot learn telepathy, think again. You’ve probably already had some kind of telepathic experience yet did not realize it was happening or didn’t interpret it as being telepathic. For instance, you’ve likely had the experience of suddenly thinking about someone that you haven’t spoken to, maybe not even thought of until that moment, for a long time; then, later on that day or the day after, you receive a telephone call, e-mail, or letter from that very person.

What happened was, one or both of you telepathically made contact with the other, transmitting emotions of affection, longing, wonder at their current state of affairs, or something like that.

This telepathic contact encouraged them to get in touch with you. Perhaps you were the first person to think of them, and the other person received your emotions and felt like contacting you. Or maybe they contacted you, felt your return thoughts of them without your being aware of it, and that was the reason they chose to make contact another way. They may have even been planning to get in touch, and you perceived that intent telepathically before the contact ever happened.

Many people feel that they cannot learn telepathy for one reason or another. It might have to do with religious upbringing teaching them that telepathy is ’sorcery’ and ‘of the devil’, so they have never tried to learn it and might even have suppressed any telepathic experiences they were having until they could no longer recognize them. They may also have been told that telepathy is irrational nonsense because there’s no ’scientific evidence’ for it-another lie (there actually is such evidence).

Now, one barrier to people learning telepathy is that there is another myth surrounding telepathy that many who actually use it believe. This is the idea that spoken language is ‘inferior’ and we only learned it because, for some mysterious reasons, our telepathic abilities decayed over millennia. This is just as untrue as the above-mentioned myths. However, there was a time when words and telepathy went hand in hand -like music and lyrics.

Take the analogy a little further and you’ll find that it holds up. Music gives you a sense of things, while lyrics will help you understand it more clearly. You’ll find that this is why words came up in the fist place. Over time, people became too dependent on the written word and because of this, there seems to have developed a phase inhuman history where they neglected their ability to communicate telepathically, to the point where they forgot it!

After hearing all that, there is a good chance that your interest is piqued and you are going to want to see what you can do to learn this amazing talent. You’ll find that it is no where near as difficult as you might be afraid of and that all it takes is a little bit of practice.

First, find yourself a partner. Hopefully, he r she is someone you know very well and who is open minded to the possibility of things like telepathic powers. Look for someone who has the same burning desire to learn that you do, and you’ll find that this can make it much easier for you to get started and it can help along the way.

Next, you and your partner must separate from each other at least enough to where you can’t physically see each other. You also need to both relax as much as you possibly can. As with most things, being all tensed up will interfere and negatively impact your performance. Clear your minds of any stresses, worries about things, etc. Have a method of getting in touch with each other in the usual way available, such as a telephone.

Now, one at a time (you’ll need to previously agree on who will go first), visualize the other person as clearly in your mind as you can. Then, visualize some kind of connection between you - a physical connection, something like a golden light that surrounds you both, or a magical thread of pure energy that connects you.

Using that cloud or that line as a connection, send them an image, the way you would dial a phone to make a call or that you would scan an image to send a fax. Make sure that at this beginning stage, it stays simple. Think about a photograph of your kids that you have close to hand or something similar, something that is equally easy.

At some point, you will feel as though the transmission is complete. When you feel like that, contact the person and ask them what they managed to receive. Were they able to feel anything or see anything? When you have compared notes, reverse positions and try it the other way.

When you are beginning, if you don’t feel that you were able to transmit after 15 minutes, stop for a while. Your first attempts should be kept brief so that you don’t exhaust yourselves and so you don’t become frustrated and allow negative feelings to settle in.

If you want to learn telepathy, the most important thing is to keep your mind positive about it, and don’t give up until you start to get results. You’ll be entering into a new and wondrous universe!

The Real Secrets To Developing Telepathy

Develop Telepathy - Telepathy is the direct exchange of thoughts, feelings and emotions between the minds of two people. This is a method of communication which uses nothing but the power of the mind to convey a message.

The telepathic ability is one that all humans possess to some degree, but have lost the means by which to control it on a conscious level. We all experience moments of telepathic activity subconsciously from time to time. Develop telepathy - Imagine being able to control that innate ability and use it to communicate.

People tend to be skeptical about telepathy. It’s hard to blame them; since telepathy isn’t taught to us, you don’t see everyone going around using this ability. Regardless, you have used this ability. Think of an instance where you were in a terrific mood and then spoke with a friend who was down in the dumps. Even if you only spoke with them for a short time, you may have found yourself also feeling glum afterwards, sharing the same emotions as your friend.

Was it what they said? Not at all – at least not with their words. It is telepathy which has allowed you to feel what your friend is feeling.

Scientific studies have shown that by accessing the sub-conscious centre of your mind and learning to focus your thoughts and feelings toward a specific person, it is possible to re-awaken the dormant telepathic abilities.

All forms of communication have to be learned; you weren’t born knowing how to speak your native language, it is something you learned by observing and imitating your family.

Most likely, telepathy is not something your parents taught you; but this doesn’t mean that you can’t use this ability. It only means that you haven’t learned how to make use of it yet.

The following methods are useful to help develop telepathy.

‘Mental-Muscle’ training

Just like you weren’t born knowing how to direct your vocal chords and mouth to speak a particular language, the ‘muscles’ responsible for telepathy need to be trained.

The part of your mind which controls telepathy is most readily reached while you are in a deeply relaxed trance state. You can produce this state through the use of relaxation techniques, including meditation.

Learn to relax your mind so that you can reach your trance state easily. When you can reach this point, you’ve begun to train your mind to be controlled at will.

Focus

Maintaining your focus while in a trance state does not come naturally, so you will need to spend some time practicing this. What you need to do is to focus on the person who you want to establish a telepathic connection to, even as you approach a state of deep relaxation.

Visualize them and project positive thoughts. Visualize them receiving your thoughts – remain focused on this until the recipient has had enough time to absorb these thoughts.

Then, stop focusing and break the telepathic link. They will feel this line of communication being severed and try to reestablish contact between your minds.

The point of learning to focus while on your own is so that when you begin your training with a partner, your mind will already be receptive and ready to receive impressions and images more easily.

Partner Practice

When practicing telepathy with a partner, one partner will send mental images and thoughts to be received by the other. Start by sending simple images like bright colors to the receiver and work your way up to more complex images and thoughts.

The receiver should keep a writing utensil and paper close at hand so that they can write down any communications they receive from the sender.

Afterwards, sender and receiver compare notes to assess how successful the exercise has been. Don’t get discouraged; telepathy is an ability which takes practice, but you will improve over time.

Telepathic Humans - Myths And Facts

Does it mean we believe in telepathy and that it exists, when we say an individual is ‘telepathic?’ Not many people think so. The idea is considered science fiction or mysticism and it’s dismissed. Even though everyday we live with cell phones, computers and this through the use of invisible air waves which retrieve the information we need. Hundreds of jets (controlled by computers) take off and land everyday world wide.

A modern piece of proverbial wisdom is that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Science and technology is the domain of human beings, and we use these unique powers to discover hidden things about the natural world, hidden principles that we can then use. What was ‘impossible’ 100 years ago is today routine. We have gone to the depths of the ocean and left this planet entirely…and come back (well, some of us have, but that proves that most or all of us could). We can convert sunlight into power and energy. We can write a message and have it instantaneously delivered, all in tact, to someone even if they are on another continent from us. And it’s all thanks to science, not ‘magic’, isn’t it?

To the people living a century ago, all these things would have been considered impossible. But we know that they do exist. This begs the question: Is it not possible that telepathic people are merely operating in a way that science does not yet understand? But by much telepathy is still viewed as nothing more than magic.

Telepaths are in fact studied scientifically in paraphysics and parapsychology. Paraphysicists and parapsychologists design experiments according to the scientific method to answer questions concerning telepathy; like all professional scientists (or as they are supposed to be), they are agnostic about the results they will get-they neither believe nor disbelieve in telepathy.

In order for the existence of telepathy to be considered a fact by science the results of their studies must show that it is measurable, consistent and repeatable. Because the studies into telepathy have produced inconsistent and unrepeatable results some then insist that it cannot be either substantiated or proven to exist. Others respond that perhaps the scientists just haven’t yet devised the proper kinds of tests. After-all, telepathic people do exist even though we do not understand how.

Yet, questions about telepathy remain. How can people communicate, at least to a significant degree, without making use of any of the five physical senses-communicate with pure thought? Well, human beings do this now with the use of artificial communication technology. For instance, probably every home in the civilized world has a radio in it-but radio waves, which surely do exist, can’t be observed intuitively or felt with our five physical senses. So, it would seem that telepathy is made possible by some force or energy that is there but, like the radio wave, cannot be intuitively or tactiley observed. Yet, the problem here is that the human brain isn’t a radio receiver…

Or are our minds more similar to transmitters than we think? Brainwaves have been proven to exist; these are electromagnetic energy, just like radio waves. These brainwaves are what the study of telepathic abilities are based on. We’ll try to explain this simply as possible.

Scientifically speaking, our thoughts occur as the result of biochemical processes which involve electrical impulses being transferred from neuron to neuron in the brain. These electrical impulses are very small, but they are measureable – and of course, any electrical current will generate a magnetic field. In the human brain, there are thousands of these electrical impulses happening at any given time.

Telepathy researchers are trying to find if the bio-electric and bio-magnetic fields created in our brains could be a means of communicating with others. Can a message be carried on these signals, or is it just so much static? If thoughts can carry information to others, is it possible to learn telepathy through mental training? Are meditation and controlled thought a viable way of training one’s mind to use its inherent telepathic abilities?

It is important to remember that electrical and magnetic fields much, much larger than the ones created by our brains are all around us all the time. Thanks to our stereos, televisions, computers, etc, much larger electro-magnetic fields can easily drown out ours.

But it is possible to boost the human brain to produce a spike in bio-electrical and bio-magnetic brain waves. This occurs when a person is in a heightened emotional state and experiencing pain, shock, fear or the feeling of being threatened. It happens because our synapses are firing more neurons at the same time.

When a mother who is far away from her child suddenly knows that her child is in danger, her synapses are firing more neurons simultaneously and parapsychologists have been able to document these brief instances of telepathy.  This raises the question then that if we detect a spike in bio-electrical and bio-magnetic brainwaves, does that mean that there is a link between that and telepathic communication?

As you have no doubt become aware as you have read this, no scientific research has provided evidence that telepathy is an absolute fact. But that is the science of today and it is beginning to change. With an increase in studies we are seeing that telepathy does actually exist. And there is increasing evidence to show that anyone can learn how to learn telepathy if they receive the proper training.
